CARAVAN PARK REVIEWS

                                  A.T.K.V. HARTENBOS CARAVAN PARK REVIEW.

Hartenbos Holiday Resort is a beach resort in the Southern Cape. The quaint town of Mossel Bay lays on the coast called the Garden route.
This Holiday Resort has over five hundred caravan stands divided into six different blocks. Some of these blocks are right on the beach and the others just a little way back from the beach but all are in easy walking distance from the beach.
.

Our stand was a beach front stand in BLOG E.  Most of the stands are 10m x 10m some a little smaller.  Our caravan at the time was a Gazelle 710 of 8m in length from the front hook to the back bumper with the full tent erected the tie down ropes went just outside our site.  There is no trees on the beach front sites which in our case is a good thing so that our satellite dish can pickup the signal. The ablution blocks are big with many toilets, showers and bathtubs. We have never run out of warm water in the ablution not even in high season during our December stays and we have spent the last ten Decembers in this Holiday Resort.

This is the view from our stand on the waterfront which is very beautiful on a nice day but when the wind starts to blow there is no windbreak and then your tent can get damaged from the wind. One very important thing to remember is to close most of the tent windows  facing the beach early at night otherwise the moisture in the night breeze will wet everything inside your tent.

The only negative of this block that we chose and the stand we where on is that it is not an easy task to get a big caravan on to your stand when the stands on the sides are occupied.

This is the beach in front of our stand with the sound of the waves breaking a few meters from our caravan. A wonderful place to spent your holiday.
